{"id":49,"date":"2005-10-18T00:00:10","date_gmt":"2005-10-17T22:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matosimi.websupport.sk\/atari\/?p=49"},"modified":"2026-05-16T20:17:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T18:17:28","slug":"monex-v11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/matosimi.websupport.sk\/atari\/2005\/10\/monex-v11\/","title":{"rendered":"Monex v1.1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><i data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Monex<\/i> is my second game, and the timeline turned out pretty neat: I started working on it on <b data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"93\">June 23, 2005<\/b>, and finished it exactly two months later on <b data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"152\">August 23, 2005<\/b>\u2014nice coincidence with the dates, right? \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though it spanned two calendar months, looking back at my developer&#8217;s log, I actually spent a total of just <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"113\">23 days<\/b> of active coding on it. I think it turned out really well, and I&#8217;m definitely starting to feel much more comfortable with assembly programming now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the game itself: it\u2019s a logic puzzle where you control a &#8220;mover&#8221; to shift and group tiles together based on matching colors or values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more details about how to play in the manual below. The completion date was pushed back quite a bit, mostly because I had a tough time track-down a musician. Luckily, <b data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"180\">Poison<\/b> reached out to me and took care of the game&#8217;s soundtrack!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One quick tip: I included an <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"29\">interlace mode<\/b> in the game, which makes the bricks look <i data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"85\">way<\/i> cleaner on a real Atari screen. You can toggle this feature on or off by pressing the <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"175\">SELECT<\/b> key while on the title screen.
