Laser Blaster

This is a Tetris-style logic game that I poured almost 1 and 3/4 years of hard work into. It was a massive grind, but it’s finally done and I really hope you all enjoy it!

The fantastic soundtrack was composed by Greg/Grayscale, while I handled the entire codebase and all of the graphics myself.

To get the absolute best look and feel while playing, I highly recommend using Atari800Win Plus 4.0beta with the following settings configured:

  • View ->Palette…->Browse: Select Default.act

  • Sound -> Sound Options: Check Emulate two Pokeys (Crucial for enjoying Greg’s dual-POKEY stereo soundtrack!)

Used Software

Here are the development tools I used to bring this project to life:

  • PC:
    • Atari800winPLus 3.1 & 4.0b
    • Code-Genie 3.08.15 & 4.05.18
    • XASM 2.5.2 & 2.6.0
    • Atari Fontmaker 1.0 & 1.1
    • RealDraw PRO 2.45
    • Atadim 2.04b
    • AtGr3
    • AtariPalette
  • Atari:
    • Marco Pixel Editor 2.1
    • BeweSoft Superpacker
    • TMC 1.11
    • Dos 2.5

The game was officially wrapped up on April 2, 2005. Shortly after, RASTER reached out and suggested featuring Laser Blaster in the upcoming issue of the legendary FLOP magazine. We shook hands on the idea, meaning the official public launch was synchronized perfectly with the release of FLOP on May 9, 2005!
